So…what is the Monday Poll?
Well, it isn't exactly a poll. It'southward more of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I've been putting out to readers every Monday forenoon for the by 11 (!) years. (Information technology'due south like a kickstart for your brain.) I've always enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.
1. What'south something that always makes yous emo?
Honestly, my hormones. I arraign them for everything. Merely the other solar day… By the way, I'm kind of swelling with them right now. The other day I saw a lady with 2 babies — newborn twin girls — at HomeGoods, and I could feel the tears welling in my eyeballs. I was standing in that location with a lemon-printed Ralph Lauren tablecloth near to take a breakdown in the kitchen section.
Hormones.
And but generally speaking, and this is gonna sound weird, but I tin can't lookout apocalyptic stories, situations, movies and TV shows anymore… I hope it's temporary, but I become besides emotional, which is why yous oasis't heard me talk about The Walking Dead for a hot 2nd.
2. Snow or surf?
Ideally, live someplace where you can surf every day, and so go on holiday to someplace where it snows.
I joke around that Connor'south gonna be an Olympic ? snowboarder, because I really don't like the snow, just if she were chasing gilt medal dreams, Momma would put on layers of thermals to drive little bratus to and from snowboarding lessons. 🙂
As for Tabs, he's never seen the snow, and so a move up to a snowy place similar Tahoe would probably not exist in the cards right now…
iii. Are humans alone in the universe?
Well, I think it's a very human thing to say that we're the simply intelligent beings out at that place, and role of me wants to believe that because, I mean, inevitably the aliens ? are gonna exist smarter and better at everything than we are, and when they do finally touch down, if you follow whatsoever sci-fi at all, we're all screwed. Just with the vastness of the ? universe (in that location are literally TRILLIONS of other stars out in that location) and our current technology, I recollect nosotros merely oasis't bumped into them yet. But it's but a matter of time.
Who knows how long it'll be? — a hundred years, thousands of years — but nosotros're gonna find them, or they're gonna find us.
four. Did you (or do you now) vesture braces? If so what was information technology similar?
I did wearable braces for over half my childhood and most of my teen years, and back so they didn't accept Invisalign. You had metal in your oral cavity.
About that…I call back it being extremely pointy. I was constantly living with pointy things against the sides of my cheeks and my lips. Imagine having screwdrivers and washers in your mouth all the fourth dimension and having to alive like that 24/7.
Eventually, I got used to it, merely thank gawd I wore that retainer religiously afterwards and didn't have to put the braces back in.
5. Would you exist OK with a stranger clipping your toenails?
If it was a creepy Craigslist thing in an apartment building tucked away in the deepest parts of boondocks, obviously no, only if it was at my regular nail salon with the cheerful lady who always asks about my life, then it would be fine. 🙂
This new coffee that I got at Target!
Exit it to the sweet-toothed sassypants (aka THIS Girl Right HURR) to grab the sweetest sounding coffee drinkable on the shelf. I couldn't pass this one upwards — Vanilla Bean Crème Brulée Light Roast Java by Archer Farms. The package says it has notes of vanilla and burnt sugar, and so I was, similar, "Yup! That's going in the cart!" If at that place was such affair as brownie coffee, or cupcake coffee, or birthday block coffee, I'd exist all over those, too. Give me sweetness any erstwhile day of the calendar week… Although, I practice love a combination of sweetness and salty, too, mostly because the salty makes the sweet tastes even more sweet. I started drinking this over the weekend and I beloved information technology. It'due south sugariness simply non sugary sweet. Yous get the notes, similar the essence of it, but information technology'due south not similar your tastebuds are assaulted by waves of crème brulée. I like information technology a lot.
